Figure 1. ELC 2020 groups
On the 4 January 2020, in the VIP room of the Olympic Stadium, the drawing of groups for ELC 2020 (“The Draw”) took place. The draw was preceded by friendly matches between teams from Israel, Poland and a team composed of players from different European countries. The draw was conducted by the ambassadors of the ELC - Maciej Zieliński and on behalf of Martin Kaczmarski, Anna Kobylańska.

Even before the draw, it was clear that there would be teams from England, Israel, Germany, Scotland and Ireland in the Blue Division. The teams were allocated to this group because of what places they took at the 2018 World Championship in Israel. The rest of the 24 teams were divided into four 4 pots of 4 (also based on the results achieved at the 2018 World Championship) and one pot of 8. Out of these 24 teams, 8 groups consisting of 3 teams were drawn. In the first phase every team in each group will play with one another (round-robin).

In view of the current global situation, we are unable to guarantee that we will see such group division at the ELC 2021, but if the list of participants does not change, the groups will remain as shown below.
